Academic Clinical Fellow Posts 

The academic partnership of NHSE (Severn Postgraduate Medical Education) and the University of Bristol invite applications annually for NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow Posts offered through the National Institute for Health Research.

 

Specialities can include: Gastroenterology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology/Trauma and Orthopaedics, Respiratory Medicine, Renal Medicine, Cardiology, Rheumatology Dual Accredit with GIM, Anaesthetics, Emergency Medicine, and Primary Care.

 

The Fellowships will provide 3 years (4 years for Primary Care) integrated academic and clinical training for junior doctors who wish to pursue a career in clinical academic medicine and have outstanding potential as a researcher and/or educationalist. This academic partnership has an excellent track record in attracting the highest quality trainees into these positions and ensuring they attain their clinical and academic competencies leading towards their CCT and a PhD programme.

The Severn PGME and the University of Bristol support a dedicated school of Clinical Academic Training to provide an extra focus for all academic trainees.  You will find further details on the NIHR website
